Recently Consumer Reports magazine compared a medium cup of black coffee from Starbucks, McDonald’s, Burger King and Dunkin Donuts. The professional testers and staffers from Consumer Reports magazine visited two stores from each establishment. They hailed McDonalds as serving the best cup of coffee. They further stated that Starbucks coffee tasted bitter and burnt and claimed McDonald’s coffee to be decent and moderately strong (“but lacked the subtle top notes needed to make it rise and shine, it had no flaws”)

I along with about 44 million other weekly customers obviously find something at Starbucks worthy of our continued patronage. I would have to say Starbucks offers a total experience that is best in class and not just a cup of java. The customer service, the ambience, consistency of the offer and the product selection contributes to this overall experience.
